Mouji Linarez-Castillo, Director of Pre-Construction of the ANF Group introduces JobSite123.com to a group of over 400 South Florida commercial construction professionals on September 10, 2009.
Here is an excerpt from Mouji Linarez-Castillo’s presentation…
Good morning everyone and thank you for joining us again this year. I’m very excited to have such a great turn-out of over 400 contractors, material suppliers and other industry professionals. We’re very proud to kick-off our “Meet and Learn Breakfast” by introducing you to the new JobSite123.com which has a lot more to offer than what you saw last year. We’re using it as a tool and we hope that it will eventually eliminate our pre-qualification process. Wouldn’t that be nice for all of us?
We’re requesting at ANF… really mandating as you all know (but requesting sounds better lol!) that you participate by filling out a Qual-Port and making it complete including all the tabs so that we have the information we need.
Once you qualify with us by using your Qual-Port, you not only gain access to being on our bid list, but you make yourself visible to the whole [Commercial Construction] industry. I know that several of the large GCs [General Contractors] in our community have also adopted using JobSite123 and we’re going to be presenting it to owners as well to create transparency… (e.g. of why subs are a great fit for a job and why we are qualified to do the work that we do).
Many of you have already started to create a Qual-Port and that’s fantastic. Today, you’ll see the full capacity that this tool has to offer. All of the tabs that have been created were done by consulting with a 100 different general contractors and facilities managers so you can rest assured that the information that we request you put inthere is important to us and it’s information that we use.
The other new feature is industry connections and I’m sure that everybody has been at least exposed to and talked about Facebook and LinkedIN. It’s a part of life now whether we like it or not. This is a Facebook or LinkedIN for the construction industry. Which is fantastic becuase if I don’t know a sub and I want to get to know you, I’m going to want to call somebody that I do know and trust, that’s worked beside you to vouch for the quality of work you have. This allows you to do that. It allows you to cross-promote other sub-contractors that you worked along-side that you respect and can vouch for the work they do.
So, to get started today, join us in taking a leadership role in implementing this tool, using this tool and being a part of it. I know that many of us have done business for years together and I’m hoping that even with that, when you create your Qual-Port I learn something new about what you do.
